Dear Lazies, the first month of 2024 is already done and dusted!
We’re slowly easing ourselves into the new year so here is a (slightly late) newsletter for January-February. Expect podcast and event updates, contributions from our Lazy Women community, and more.
— Ins and Outs for 2024 for Lazy Women —
Reminiscent of the wish lists in almost every teen movie, the Ins/Outs list making the rounds on our feeds this past month, is just a light-hearted attempt to keep what serves us and discard the rest in the new year. The trend pokes a bit of fun at the conventional NYE resolution, with its mundane and almost abstract intentions just like this one, they can be customised to fulfill what we want to change in the new year. Let’s dive into the Lazy Women-inspired Ins/Outs for 2024.
Ins
Female friendships
Romanticizing the “rot”
Speaking up!
Doing what you love (even if it’s doing nothing)
Protecting your peace
Listening to your gut
Outs
Hustle culture
People-pleasing
Bringing the “hater” energy
Negative self-talk
Defining what “being normal” is
Judging yourself (or others)

We asked our Lazies to share their best practices on decluttering with us. Here’s what they had to say ❤️
For the past three years, Lazy Lucie has chosen a word of the year to set the vibe and her attitude for the upcoming months. For 2024, the word is NOURISHMENT. Lucie is expecting a lot of change in her life this year with switching careers, turning 30 (woo!), writing a dissertation and already starting a part-time job. With big change comes great responsibility, and Lucie is making sure she enjoys every second of it with nourishing new friendships, experiences and challenges. We love the idea of choosing one word for 2024 and it ties in perfectly with our theme of decluttering (hey, is that Lazy Womens’ word of the year?) because by focusing on herself and keeping what’s important nourished, we know Lucie will thrive.
Funnily enough, Lazy Lauren also chose a word of the year for the first time in 2023 and has continued that tradition into 2024. Whilst last year was all about BALANCE, this year is all about FLOURISHING. Lauren’s main focus is to take care of herself through slow-living which in turn, will let her inner self to flourish. By being her own cheerleader and indulging in quiet evenings for reading and knitting, the other aspects of her life (think: work, relationships, writing and family connections) will also flourish at their own pace. Do you have a word of the year?
Lazy Poppy’s approach to decluttering was to see journaling not as a must-do but a can-do. Instead of getting anxious that she missed a day of writing, she has started focusing on quantity when she has the the time to write. A simple rule of a 2 page minimum has allowed journaling to become more meaningful again and allowed Poppy to clear her mind of hopes, thoughts, and fears.
That would be all for now. Don’t forget to check out the next podcast episode coming out soon.
xx
